PIKORUA (Twist)  The word piko is given to a new shoot and rua is the number two.  The shape depicts two new shoots growing together.  The criss cross form reflects the many pathways in life and career planning. 

WHAKAWHITI has a number of meanings depending on context.  For us in CATE, appropriate interpretations include "to get the best out of life", "to change or transition" and "to make shine".
