Careers New Zealand is leading the development of a suite of benchmarks that aim to increase the quality and consistency of career education in New Zealand.
Currently we are developing a set benchmarks for the tertiary sector. These benchmarks build on the Career Education Benchmarks –Secondary (launched in 2011) and are being developed with expert input from the education and research sectors. Later this year we plan to develop a set of benchmarks for Year 7 & 8.

75 Year 12 and 13 students will attend school full-time, working on tertiary programmes that include theory, practical work and some work experience. The programme for 2011 will focus on delivering National Certificate Level 2 Carpentry, Hospitality and Agriculture/Horticulture.
