Education to Employment Conference (Palmerston North)

Registrations are now open for the Education to Employment (E2E) Conference being held in Palmerston North on July 27th 2018. The E2E conference (formerly the Lower North Island Gateway Conference) is shaping up to be a great day and you won’t want to miss it. The cost will be $125 per attendee.

The keynote speakers so far include Jim Bright, and Richard Shaw from Massey University.

Jim Bright is a world-leading career development theorist and has recently featured in the media advocating major change in our field. He is best known as a researcher and author of “The Chaos Theory  of Careers”.

Professor Richard Shaw, from Massey University, has undertaken some insightful research into the world of work and in particular, what employers demand from new hires and existing staff. He is a very engaging speaker.

Considering the major review of education and the careers/transition function within that sector both these speakers will stimulate our thinking and perhaps point to pathways for our practice within schools in the future. I think it is an exciting time to be working in our areas.

Attached you will find further information about Jim Bright including a special workshop our local CATE team are opening up to non-members the day before the conference (26th July). The cost of this workshop is $120 per attendee which includes lunch.

Other sessions at the conference will focus on Regional Opportunities in Logistics and the Primary Industries; a panel discussion on innovative Gateway approaches; and updates from TEC/MoE
